Big Ships...And a couple of aliens.

As promised (in a reply to Miran's last post), here are some pictures of my trip to Star Trek The Experience in Las Vegas. I apologise about the light levels as the compact camera that I was using doesn't handle low light levels very well. I've put these pictures on here though as they are just so cool.First up, The Enterprise refit.Oops, it came out sideways. You get the idea though right? Try turning your head 90 degrees.Next up, The Enterprise D...Well, the lights of the Enterprise D…See More

That sure is purty. Although I don't see why J.J. Abrahms felt the need to tweek with the design of this classic ship. Apparently he wanted more of a hotrod feel to it, thus distorting the nacells from the original design. I do love models with…

Trailers for The Expendables, The A-Team and Salt at Dave now!

I like the new A-Team trailer, it's got that sense of fun about it. Salt looks like an action/thriller with Angelina kicking ass, sold. That scene between Arnie, Stallone and Bruce is electric. Looking forward to The Expendables. Check out Dave.See More

Mark Millar: Variations On A Theme.

I would definately class myself as a fan of Mark Millar, the comic bookwriter. I tend to buy all of his work that comes to my attention. Thishas lead me to notice a repeating pattern in some of his stories. Itstarted with the brilliant "Wanted", a story in which all thesupervillains in the world banded together and took out all of thesuperheroes in turn. This theme was repeated in the more recent storythat ran through several issues of "Wolverine" concluding in it's own"Giant Size" issue, "Old…See More

Cheesy story, all-out action, that's what we want this year. Have you seen Li's Fearless? That's a great movie, he really brings it in that one.

Yeah, this is what we're talking about!

I really liked the last Rambo, I though it was a really good action movie. I especially liked the part where he uses an anti-aircraft gun on the man in the jeep and turns him into soup. Top notch!

This is more a throwback to the 80's action movies rather than a re-invention, so expect all the cheese and action maxed up to ten and beyond. Look at that cast.… Continue

HBO Greenlights George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones

One of the best cable channels (HBO has been responsible for The Wire, Deadwood, Rome) is producing the best fantasy stories of recent times in George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones series. The goal is to adapt each book per season.

The books are cutthroat, shocking bad ass medieval politicking reads with a hint of magic and high dose of class and quality.

Although there is a chance that… Continue
